Junior Match report 3rd Nov 2019

Indoor Championships In the 2nd Indoor Championships of the season it was the U14 Girls that came out on top after some fiercely fought matches with the other U14 Girls team and the U14 Boys. The Internal Championships have been hugely popular this season and this event was completely sold out many days before the competition took place! In the inter-U14 Girls match is was a hat-trick from Bella Munoz and two from Anna Faulstich that proved the difference between the teams as the Reds ran out 5-2 winners. Goals from Phoebe Gough-Cooper and Summer Knight-Thompson for the Blues. The U14 Girls Reds then took on the U14 Boys. Despite a first half lead for the boys the girls managed to win the second half 2-0 including a last minute winner from Summer to steal the match 4-3! Riley Webster, Charlie Harrison and Mack Copp scoring for the boys & Betsy, Phoebe and Summer (2) for the girls. To the final match - the boys needed to win to square the competition and took another lead into half time. Goals from Indy Morris, Ben Dawkins and Charlie giving them a 3-2 lead. Josefina Hippe and Anna scored for the girls. However, a dominant second half performance from the Red girls saw them win the match 7-5 including the goal of the tournament involving every player in the team! A second half hat-trick from Josefina and two from Player of the Tournament Anna saw the girls finish in first place and take the trophy home! Well done to all involved! Next stop - the Copper Box over Xmas!!

U10 Girls Festival @ Canterbury The U10 Girls took part in their second festival of the season. Playing matches against Canterbury & Ashford hockey clubs the HC Knole Park team had a wonderful morning! In the first match against Canterbury White the girls had all the possession but couldn’t score against a resolute defence and were hit on the break to lose 0-1. Despite this early setback the girls were full of positivity and won their next three matches. Against Ashford Bears two goals from Elisa Hippe was enough for a 2-0 win and then two goals for Emily Bingham and one for Lila Hughes meant they also beat Ashford Sharks 3-0.

In their final match against Canterbury Yellow, Knole Park won 5-0. Two goals from Lila, a brace from Liliya Dale and another goal from Emily B, as well as a superb defensive display by Farah Hilden, Emily Newton, Charlotte Parker and goalkeeper Elisa Hippe prevented the opposition scoring despite having a very fast and dangerous forward. The girls produced some very good link up play in midfield and developed their confidence to shoot earlier which resulted in their best performance of the morning. A great way to finish the festival!

It was commented on how technical and confident the girls have become with their ball carrying and skills, combined with some excellent work rate and much improved defence; the girls are clearly learning all the time from all the training, coaching, camps, indoor and festivals!

Well done to all involved!
