U12 Girls go close to winning in Guildford tournament
HC Knole Park U12 girls finished second at the Guildford HC Plate Tournament on Sunday. Two wins against Teddington and Wimbledon, a draw against Sevenoaks and a narrow defeat to Guildford saw the girls enjoy a great morning of hockey. Using the full depth of the U12 Girls squad it was great to give a debut to the new signing Diya Menon, as well as being able to give all the girls some more match experience.
Phoebe Bright was the team’s top scorer with three goals. Celia Foster, Lettie Hughes and Sara Friis claimed the other goals from a mixture of set-pieces and open play. The HC Knole Park Player of the Tournament was Betsy Burden who adapted exceptionally well to a new position and played very well in every match.
The team head indoors next weekend for an U12 Tournament before travelling to Surbiton in two week’s time for what will be a much tougher test!
